What happens in psychotherapy?

Therapy is different for everyone, because each person brings something unique — your story, your pace, your concerns, and your way of being. There’s no single route or method. But at the heart of the process is a consistent, safe, and confidential space where you can begin to explore what matters to you.

I work relationally and medium or long-term, which means our work isn’t about immediately trying to fix symptoms or rushing toward solutions. It’s about understanding yourself more deeply, working through what may be holding you back, and discovering how you want to live — in a world that can feel both overwhelming and full of possibility.

Some people come with a clear reason: a loss, a transition, anxiety, shame, or a difficult relationship. Others arrive with a more diffuse sense of unease or stuckness. You don’t need to know what you’re looking for in order to begin.

We meet weekly, at the same time each week, where possible, and over time, a relationship builds that allows for honesty, reflection, and real change. Sometimes therapy is quiet and steady. Sometimes it stirs things up. But you and your therapy process are  held — thoughtfully, attentively — and always with care.

Therapy is a commitment, and it unfolds at its own pace. If that feels right for you, or if you’re curious, I’m happy to talk more,  and you can book an initial session so that we can explore the potential for you of working together.
